Set at an altitude of approximately 1,440 metres, this cache offers
brilliant views of the Wonnangatta valley and beyond. Under dry
conditions it is accessible from the west by 2wd, or if you wish a
more challenging approach, try the Billy Goat Bluff Track which
starts from the Wonnangatta Road just 6.5 kms NE. Billy Goat Bluff
Track is very steep and suitable only for 4wd vehicles, however the
views along the way are quite spectacular.
The cache is a 400-ml Sistema container hidden in a spot that
offers commanding views of the area. Just watch out for the steep
drop nearby – it is a bit scary especially if there are strong
winds. Once you have found the cache, make sure you continue up the
track to the fire tower. If the Parks officer is there, say hello
and chat to him about the tracks and surrounding area – he is a
very friendly fellow and loves to tell people what the area has to
offer.
Note: There is no pen inside the cache so please bring your
own.
