A land feud was being waged
between Daniel Suffolk, Earl of South Chagrin, and Benjamin
Norfolk, Earl of North Chagrin. Their Knights battled for control
of the ‘Hunting Valley’, the middle ground that lay between the two
clans.
Both knew that the land was valuable, Suffolk thinking that the
land would be useful to the villagers for farming and for the new
sport of geo-stashing he recently learned of. Norfolk knew the
value in terms of monetary worth only, this land would fetch more
gold than he could ever imagine. The Duke and Duchess of Serenity,
who lived to the west in Royal Towne, might just be looking to
upgrade from their bungalow castle to a Tudor or possible a
split-level.
Norfolk saw this as his opportunity to cache in. He bartered with
Edward the silk mercer, to have Lady Jenna, the Earl of Suffolk’s
daughter, snatched whilst she shopped the newest silk folders in
the mercer’s Shoppe. Edward kept his end of the bargain, handing
over Lady Jenna to Lord Norfolk in exchange for a barrel of ale and
50 Sovereign Limited Edition Gold Coins, but Lord Norfolk double
crossed the mercer, and had him banished to the Isle of Starve.
Lord Suffolk learned the news of his daughters kidnapping while on
a nightmarish hunt in the forest. He knew of only one man foolish
enough to kidnap a member of his family and readily made plans to
dispatch his best Knight, Sir Adam and his squire Jacob, on a quest
to retrieve his daughter.
Lord Norfolk had positioned his
army of knights in the forest along the trails leading to his
castle in anticipation of Lord Suffolk's attack. His army numbered
over 100, but knew that it would be a hard fought battle between
the knights, and prayed for a victorious outcome by his men. Lord
Suffolk would not risk the lives of his knights, he knew Norfolk
was willing to, so he devised a plan to draw Norfolk’s knights out
of hiding and away from the area surrounding Norfolk’s castle while
Sir Adam and Squire Jacob made a stealthy approach. Lord Suffolk’s
plan was to have his knights ride into the open meadow, then
retreat back into the forest and across the river drawing Norfolk’s
army out of hiding. The plan worked, almost all of Norfolk’s army
chased after the retreating knights. The remaining knights were
quickly dispatched by Sir Adam and Jacob. They quickly made their
way to the castle to start their search for Lady Jenna. Almost
immediately they realized that Lady Jenna wasn’t in the castle.
Benjamin Norfolk wasn’t that smart, he left clues all over the
castle as to Lady Jenna’s whereabouts. Sir Adam gathered most of
the clues needed, and started off into the forest. He Left Squire
Jacob to gather the remaining clues and then catch up. Just after
leaving the Castle, Sir Adam was injured, not by one of Norfolk’s
returning knights, but by mistakenly falling into a large hole left
by and uprooted tree and twisting his ankle. The squire was not far
behind, but Sir Adam wrote out the needed clues and left
instructions for Jacob to continue the search without him. While
the Squire Searched, Sir Adam would hobble back to the castle and
take care of Benjamin Norfolk, Earl of North Chagrin, once and for
all.
The Squire needs your help now, start your search at the castle,
find the clues, and then find help Squire Jacob in his
search.
