When I first moved here, I thought there was a mistake -
Bellbrock (BROCK) park in Bellbrook (BROOK)? But it's no
mistake.
Bellbrock Park is owned by the City of Bellbrook and managed by
the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Park District. This beautiful park,
located on North Main Street near the center of Bellbrook, is often
mistakenly called "Bellbrook Park". Named for the Brock family who
donated the land, this park was at one time the site of a natural
mineral spring that attracted hundreds to the area.
Two lovely gazebos, a miniature bridge, sugar maple house, and
the blacksmith shop adorn this park which is the central location
for the annual Sugar Maple Festival (coming up April 22-23,
2006!).
This cache was approved by the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Park
District, 3/17/2006, Permit #3. Be forewarned: the permit is only
valid until December 31, 2006 and then this cache will be
history.
