This cache is located on a section (“The Cedar Trail”) of the Millbrook Valley Trails. The trails start in the town of Millbrook and move through forests, wetlands and meadows. The Cedar Trail joins up with a section of the Old Grand Trunk rail line which has now been turned into part of the trail system.
Parking is located at N44 08.101 W 078 27.332. The parking lot is gated in the winter, so park in front and walk in from there. The terrain is hilly in spots, but trail is useable year round.
Walking towards the ponds, the Cedar Trail starts at N 44 07.983 W 078 27.393. The cache is in a medium sized Tupperware container that is covered well. It includes the usual trade items. Please hide well when you are finished!
Once you find the cache, you can retrace your path back or continue down the old abandoned railway for 200 m to the next path which will loop back to the ponds. If you have more time to wander, you can check out the old railway limestone culvert farther down the railway. It is hard to find, but if you are quiet you will hear the water moving through it. If you are going down to take a look…be careful it is very, very steep!
