April is Keep Chesapeake Beautiful Month. Sunday April 23, 2006 1 pm will be our day to help out.
The city of Chesapeake, Va. has asked the Hampton Roads Geocachers to help clean up part of the city. They will give each of us a lapel pin, and our group a flag for our efforts. They will also supply the trash bags. Several new geocaches will be placed nearby. An item that we will talk about is an Adopt-A-Spot.
We will be cleaning up 2 parks. Lakeside Park (where the coords and picnic will be) and Oscar's Landing a nearby wetland that is in desperate need of a cleanup.
We will have the hotdogs, buns, mustard, ketchup and bottled water. The rest will be a potluck picnic. If you wish to bring something please post it. (not required to attend the event). We will also be having a chinesse auction after the cleanup.
The cleanup will start on Sunday, April 23rd at about 1pm and the picnic at 2pm.
