Wizard of Ooze: While it is a thoughtful gesture for cachers to try to keep an unmaintained cache going by replacing the container or logsheet, geocaching.com does not encourage these "throwdown" caches, as it simply prolongs the lifespan of an unmaintained cache and blocks the area from new caches by individuals who will be maintaining their cache at the location.
