Introducing the White Wolf Grade Fault. The cause of the 1952 earthquake that killed 11 people in Tehachapi, one in Arvin and destroyed most of Tehachapi, Arvin and Bakersfield. Looking up the hill you can follow the rill clear over the top of the mountain. This is the actual fault that split the earth. It is now a rain creek, haven to animals and wild flowers.
