Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
A 1/4 mile or so walk along a (in places) muddy public footpath so wellies or boots are advised. If coming from the road in the south please make sure to enter and exit by the path and not through the farmer's yard. The path is not suitable for wheelchairs.
If parking on the road find a suitable lay-by, tractors have been known to use this road at speed.
The name came about as I followed the path to what I thought would be the River Douglas, it nearly reached it but not quite, so hence the name.
The cache is a largish butty box(or medium sized one if you are a Hungry Horace) which initially contains some quite nice goodies as well as a few Geocoins to start it off.
Tree cover may make the co-ords slightly devious, then again, maybe not but experienced cachers will spot the place easily.
