Mostly flat terrain, roadways and parks. Several hundred meters of
walking involved. Mozzies are an issue in the summer. If you run into nettles or poison ivy, recheck your numbers, there should be none of that to deal with!
This one is a mini-tour of the village where we live, just a short bit of walking in the vicinity of the main intersection at Main and Confederation Sts, Glen Williams. Parking usually no problem in the ballpark.
Posted coordinates are for the bridge near this intersection.
From the bridge over the Credit River, you will be able to spot 6 tall flag poles. The 3 we are intersted in are the Millenium, Cenotaph(middle one of 3) and Ball Park poles. NOT the Public School pole.
Use your handy, dandy GPSr to calculate the distance in meters between the 3 poles, then divide each by 1000(ie: move the decimal point 3 to the left) You can use a tape measure but I don't recommend it.
Throw out the SHORTEST one.
To find the Cache Latitude, SUBTRACT the next shortest distance in meters from this number N 43.40.186
To find the Cache Longitude, ADD the longest distance in meters to this number W 079.55.235
Go find it and have fun. Preston's store, the Bakery, and Copper Kettle as well as all the local artisans will be happy to relieve you of any extra cash you want to unload.
Notes... The Cenotaph is a special place, the Parkette was entirely built by volunteers and my kids learned to play ball in the Ball Park, ever hear of Larry Walker? Just kidding, he's from B.C.
