This cache is located on the southern end of Pickle's butte. The cache site has a beautiful view of farmland and the distant Owhyee mountains.
Pickle's butte is the highest point in Canyon County at 3084 feet. If you drive up on the northern end of the butte you can have a pretty view of the entire treasure valley. On windy days you can see people hang gliding off the butte.
The cache has a logbook and some trinkets to trade. Enjoy the beautiful view and the peace and quiet, (unless of course they are shooting at the gun range down below).
Also for info, A year or two ago, an ultra light motorized hang glider crashed on this very same rock outcropping and the pilot was killed. I believe that the nearby memorial marker is a tribute to mark his death and that of the crash site.
CAUTION!! SNAKES HAVE BEEN SEEN NEAR THIS CACHE. If you don't like snakes, try this cache during a colder day or anytime during the winter months.
