½ mile SE down the stone bridge trail from “ Below Stone Bridge” is my latest railroad cache. When the railroads were built in this area during the mid 1800s, The right of way often cut through the middle of a farmers pasture. It was obviously difficult and dangerous to move livestock across the tracks. To alleviate the problem, the railroad would often build an underpass every few miles as needed. These cowpasses usually went under a short wooden bridge.
This cowpass is different. It is a beautiful stone arch, probably built at the same time from left over materials from stone bridge. It has held up very well over the last 150 years.
The cache is a mini water park container. Please place the cache back as you found it. Bring a pencil
