Geocache Description:

The coordinates listed above ARE NOT FOR THE CACHE! You have to go out and find the coordinates for the cache (see below).

The Thousand Islands State park Region which stretches from Lake Ontario to Lake Champlain has 28 parks, 1 historic site, 3 nature centers, (the above coordinates will take you to one of the nature centers.). There are over 2330 camp sites in the region, the largest number of campsites of any of the 13 park regions in New York State.

Some of the oldest state parks in New York are located here. They include Cedar Point, Dewolfe Point, Waterson Point and Keewaydin state parks. There are swimming beaches, boat launches, boat rentals, hiking trails, picnic areas at most of the parks, and one large swimming pool located at Keewaydin State Park. There is of course great opportunities to fish at most of the parks located on the river.

When you search for the coordinates for this cache you will have opportunities to explore these wonderful recreational resources.

For the State Parks there is a $6-7 park entrance fee from around Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. (free at other times) If you buy a day use pass it is good at all the state parks for that day. You can also buy a seasonal day use pass called an empire passport for $59(available at most parks) that will get your vehicle into the New York State Parks for day use for the whole season. Seniors 62 and older that are New York State Residents can also get into the York State Parks free of charge if they have identification (driver’s license). If you are a current camper at a state park you can show your camping permit at other state parks for day use access.

If you can find all the clues located in the following caches you will have the coordinates to find this cache. The goal of the cache is to get you out to see all the great places the state parks have to offer. While searching for these caches you can see great views of the St. Lawrence River, go fishing and swimming when in season, even camp along the river.

You will need to find the number for the coordinates in the following caches. The numbers written in the cache are in the order of the letters for each cache below.

Your puzzle you need to find the pieces for:

a b c d. e f g
0 h i j k . l 8 8 (Yes that is a zero between ‘g’ and ‘h’, consider it a free coordinate.)

YOUR NOT FINISHED YET, READ ON --->

Consider the last two numbers a freebie (8 8).

Once you have all the clues put them together and come find the cache. The place where the cache is found is only open from Dawn to Dusk! All Dogs need to be leashed and have proof of current Rabis vaccination.

There is some great 'Parks' stuff in the cache.

When you get to the park where this cache is found, come to the main building (where the coordinates at the top the page will actually lead you to) and ask about other caches on the property.

A REMINDER NOT TO PUT ANY FOOD, KNIVES, MEDICINE OR OTHER NON-FAMILY FRIENDLY ITEMS IN THE CACHE AS TRADES. IF FOUND THEY WILL BE REMOVED AND THROWN OUT.
