This cache takes you to Earle Park, which is located behind the CT
Audubon Society in Glastonbury. The 48 acre property is owned by
the town of Glastonbury, not the Audubon Society.
The park closes one half hour after sunset. Walk behind the
Center to the left and you will see the trailhead which starts off
along the cemetery. During the winter you can see a nice view of
the CT River from the cache. The pond here is also good for
skating.
If you have kids you might want to visit the Discovery Room
inside the CT Audubon
Center which features a few birds, reptiles, and rodents along
with other nature displays(requested donation of $1). The AS also
offers a variety of wonderful programs and classes for all ages.
Please be aware that the AS often uses the park as an outdoor
classroom so remember your geo-etiquette if you see classes being
held.
Funny...but after we finished placing this cache, we found a
letterbox about 20 feet away! We decided not to move ours as it was
such a great spot and after all, great minds do think alike. We
wonder how many cachers will find the letterbox first? There are 5
letterboxes here in Earle Park. IF YOU FIND A LETTERBOX, PLEASE DO
NOT REMOVE THE STAMP. IT IS NOT FOR TRADING.
As always, we hope you enjoy the adventure!
