Geocache Description:

Welcome to a geocache honoring one of the oldest newspapers in Texas. There is ample parking in this area. You can even mail a letter or two at the post office across the street. Drop on in at the front lobby and buy a newspaper from a publication that has been in the business since 1850.

The Huntsville Item cache is one of many of the geocaches in town that are within walking distance of each other. This cache (not affiliated by the actual newspaper) pays tribute to the many reporters, staff, and publication visionaries who have sought to maintain a newspaper in this historic community since even before the Civil War.

Printing press of long long ago...

The parking is easy and the Item's parking lot is vacant mainly during mid-day Saturdays.

This is now an easy park and grab. As with other geocaches, be sure to look for thorns and poison oak / ivy. The cache is not deep in the woods or anything, though.
