Geocache Description:

The first CITO event in West Central Nebraska! Mark your calendars for 2pm (Central) on April 30, 2006.

This is the first of (hopefully) many CITO events in this area. The West Central Nebraska Geocachers (WCNG) in conjunction with Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful are hosting this Sunday afternoon event.

The coordinates listed are the beginning coordinates for the Sam Bass Cache (very cool cache). We'll plan to meet in the obvious parking lot near the beginning leg of the cache. We will plan to meet at 2pm on April 30, 2006.

Please come prepared to have fun, meet fellow geocachers in the area, and do our part to protect and preserve the environment. This is Platte Wildlife Area, and is in need of some TLC. Please attend if you're able to do so!!

We will have a few event caches placed as well, so be sure to bring your GPSr! (As if you'd really leave it behind)

We'll add information as it becomes available.

See you there!

UPDATE: Thanks, BigDawgg, for posting the map. If you don't have maps in your GPS, or aren't familiar with getting to the site, the map will be useful.

We have made reservations at 6pm (Central) for dinner at Little Mexico in North Platte following the CITO event. If you absolutely can't make it for the CITO event, we'd still like to see you at Little Mexico afterwards! We're still working out some of the minor details (trash bags, what to bring, etc.) and we'll get it posted soon.

UPDATE 2: 04/29/06 Well, tomorrow's the big day! Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful will be providing trash bags, gloves, litter tongs and beverages.

You should plan to bring bug spray, jacket and lawn chairs (if you'd like). This area is fairly undeveloped, so dress appropriately.

We've noted that ticks are plentiful in the area, so it might be a good idea to wear light colored clothing.
