Well, here it is the first of my caches along the Naugatuck River that show where you can launch or retrieve your Canoe or Kayak from. This is a small fishing area that I have known about for years, but don't use all that often. You are looking for a 6" x 6" X 3" clear plastic container. The Naugatuck River is a real success story that the state is proud of, and with good reason. When I was young we were told to never go near the river because it was so polluted that even touching it might harm us, and that was true, not something made up to keep us away from the water. This river used to run different colors, and smelled different depending what the factories were dumping that day. I still wouldn't drink from it, or eat the fish but I am told that you could. With the river being safe again I hope to kayak it this year! This river is an over looked natural playground that needs to get more people out and using it. 7/20/06 Ok, I have been told that due to a recent growth spurt by some of the greenery around this cache it may now be lamer than it was when I placed it so I added the lameness counter.
