This Cache is located on Lake Greeson. The lake was named for Martin White Greeson who was born November 7,1866 in Clinton, Arkansas. Mr. Greeson battled for 50 years with the powers that be, to help alleviate flooding from the Little Missouri River. Mr Greeson's hard work and dedication toward his goal, led to the development of what is known as Lake Greeson.
The Lake Greeson project includes 16,059 total acres of land and water. The concrete dam is 941 feet long with a height of 183.5 feet. There are 6,800 acres of land at the project which are open to the public for hunting.
Kirby Landing Marina was opened in the early 1950's by Clay King Crump who had the same vision of developing this area for the use of everyone.The Marina is still run today by his son Clay King Crump III. This Marina is a ongoing project for Clay who is always upgrading the Marina with new modern docks. If you ever want a Houseboat-- this is the place to be--I should know--I have one there.
This is a fun place-- get a coke and ice cream -- sit and stay awhile. Ask permission and feed the catfish- or bring some bread-- these monsters under the dock will sometime eat from your hand. Stories abound on this dock-- if you don't have one-- some one will tell you one.
Look at this work of art-- this wood was hand treated by Mr Crump and has stood for over 50 years--what a place!!!!!
