What at first appears to be a drab industrial estate turns out to
reveal a surprisingly tranquil area, with one particuarly good view
at the cache site. The cache is a small tupperware box.
Manor Park industrial estate was built on Halton Moss, for the best
approach to the cache park here (53°21.137 -2°39.691)by the
enourmous Lidl building. There are quicker ways to it from
Warrington Road but you may end up walking through an unoffical
tip. The first thing to notice is the man made Oxmoor balancing
pools. These are intended to contain the amount of water displaced
by the construction of the estate. This is so that the moss will
continue to protect the surrounding areas from flooding. Any excess
water is drained into keckwick brook. This activity seems to have
caught the attention of several types of rare warbler birds who are
now frequently seen in the area. The cache site is at a nice
viewpoint in what seems an overgrown area. Please don't trample
across any vegatation as depsite what your gps may be telling you
its possible to get to the cache on a path. I have visited this
area many times and have yet to see another person. Some people
must visit occasionally, because unfortunately there seems to be a
bit of litter around. Its a good place to practice cache in trash
out.
