Rooney's Cache Traditional Cache

In 1837, the Rooneys left County Cork, Ireland, and came to Canada. They farmed in Goulbourn before settling in Nepean. In 1922, after losing their first homestead to fire, John Rooney and his wife Irene purchased a 150-acre farm and settled here with their 10 children. This land was passed down to their son Jack who was known for his old-time fiddling, step-dancing and community corn roasts. Rooney family members still reside in Fallowfield Village.
