This geocache was hidden towards the end of an excellent two-week
tour of the Ténéré, and only two days after the 2006 Total Solar
Eclipse. It was deployed by an international team representing nine
countries.
Rather than being in a known location, this cache resides in the
open desert, marked only by a rock or two...
The initial contents are a special pair of glasses for direct
observation of the sun. Feel free to use them and record any
sunspots you see (little black bits on the sun) in the log.
However, please leave them in the container for the next geocacher
to use.
Small note on cache maintenance: We have been in
touch with the local Tuareg agency - members of whom were present
at the creation of the geocache - and they have agreed to maintain
the geocache on our behalf. We have the name and e-mail address of
a specific guide who will do this. Thanks!
