John Rea, about 1887, bought 80 acres of a walnut ranch outside of the town of Anaheim. He liked to name his properties so he named this one Katella after his two daughters Kate and Ella. When the county put a road through here they named it Katella in honor of the early ranch. See the picture of the family in the cache. Small cache with log only. If you are interested in other Anaheim historical sites check out GCV929. It was a big part of Anaheim's history but is not in Anaheim. The picture of the family was taken. I hope it was taken by a muggle and not a geo-muggle. Geo-muggles are pretty terrible. I have replaced the picture.
