The small farming town of Victoria has long since been abandoned
but the hard work of its inhabitants can still be
found...foundations, springs, and rumored a cemetary are in the
vicinity of this cache. Please be respectful of their work when
searching for this cache. It is not hidden in any intact
structures. Be sure to hide the cache as well as you found it.
In the spring, you will be blessed by the beauty of the former
homesteads with the daffodils still blooming. All around, the
mountains rise steeply, providing a beautiful and peaceful
landscape in every season. Conditions on the road may vary with
seasons and precipitation. Recently the bridge has been repaired
making this a less hair raising crossing. Vehicles with some
clearance are recommended. If you choose to hike this adventure
instead, remember that it is downhill only one way. There are a few
places to park on the way down if you decide to try to drive but
change your mind part way down. Be sure not to block the road if
you park. Keep in mind that the road down is narrow and reverse may
be necessary if you meet another vehicle.

We've heard that there is a cemetary but have yet to find it. Let
us know if you get lucky.
Another point of interest, on the way down the road, is the
Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail crossing at N 39 51.958, W 079

The Flats are off of Victoria/Rock Springs Road. You will feel
like you are turning into a private driveway but it is a public
road. This road can be accessed via King Road which is located just
out of Ohiopyle off of Mill Run Road/Rte. 381. Another route can be
taken via Maple Summit Road to Burnworth.
