Geocache Description:

"German Cemetery" a.k.a. Mt. Zion Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery is located on Lang Slocum Ridge Road about a mile off State Route 140...

The old church was across the street from the cemetery but was torn down in the 1970's...Many of it's founding members are buried in the cemetery, including the Genheimers who immigrated to the United States in the mid 1800's...

These brave immigrants made a new life in this developing territory...Many were part of the German Colonization Company efforts in 1869 to bring their countrymen to the new terroritories of the United States...The Company lured investments in the new land out of their countrymen and in the fall of 1862 92 families left the Chicago area for Indian terroritories west to make a new life...Crop failures and attacks forced some of the famalies to cut their losses and move on...German heritage is rich in this area...Some of the colonization familes made their way here...

Park across the street at the gravel turn in where the old church used to be...Cross over into the cemetery...You will find it hanging around the front of the cemetery...Cache is a large pill bottle camouflaged, and includes a construction worker, a stop sign and a policeman and log book...Bring a pen to sign it...
