Hats Off to Champoeg 2006 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Go JayBee: Well, it seems that the Champoeg Park Rangers have done it again. After telling me a year ago, that the location was "approved" because it was in the "Day Use Area" (they even pointed me to it)...we get a new kid on the block who claims the cache cannot be there.

Now, I can understand that they don't want any new trails being made, but the trail was there before the cache was ever placed. The objection now is that it was not on an "established" trail.

I've had it with the contradictory reasons and lack of communication from the Park Managers, the harassment of folks trying to find the cache? And the false statements like: "it was under the bridge"...the thing was 40 feet away from the bridge...(I know better than to do that)!

So say farewell to the hats...

Geocache Description:

This cache is a commemorative to the "Geo-Hat Parade"
PLEASE HAVE COURTESY FOR THE OTHER VISITORS IN THE PARK. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WALK THROUGH ANY CAMPSITES TO GET THIS CACHE.....IT IS IN THE "DAY USE AREA"...DO NOT PARK IN THE CAMPSITE LOTS...THANK YOU...

It is not far away from where a fabulous event took place on the 14th of July, 2006. There were hats of many shapes and sizes...but only the ones that truly reflected the Spirit of GeoCaching were awarded with admiration and respect from their fellow cachers.

Jayel57 and I hope you enjoy the hunt as much as we enjoyed the hide...

Thanks to all who attended...
