Geocache Description:

About 1/4 mile walk in from the road on a sandy path. The preserve is officially known as the "Fire Pond Reforestation Area".

I was browsing thru our town's web page, and came across the "Fire Pond" in the county's forest preserve. I thought it might be an interesting place to see, as the pond is supposedly stocked with trout. We spent 2 days scoping out this place, and the hardest thing about finding the cache is getting good coordinates. It IS a forest preserve with VERY tall pine trees, and the signal is fairly weak in places. We took about 15 readings over 2 days, to come up with a consensus as to where we placed the cache. Once you get in the area, it should not be too hard to find. You're looking for an Ammo Box.

Park off the road, and pick up the trail at N 43.10.708 and W 73.40.263
