Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden at Brukner Nature Center in Troy, OH where there are six miles of hiking trails. These trails are open every day from sunrise to sunset. STAY ON THE TRAILS, BUSHWACKING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED! The GPS'r jumped around abit when placing the cache. I'll see if anyone has trouble finding it due to the coordinates, if so I'll provide new ones.

Please be kind and follow all rules established by Brukner Nature Center. The cache is no more than 5' off the trail. If litter is found along your hike, please remove it and deposit it in the refuse container in the parking lot (remember cache in, trash out).

Brukner Nature Center is a privately-funded, non-profit organization dedicated to environmental education and wildlife rehabilitation. The Interpretative Building and Iddings Log House provide a wonderful setting for educational programs, reaching over 40,000 people each year. The diverse natural area, outdoor wildlife displays and diverse trail system attract over 120,000 visitors each year.

The Brukner Nature Center Interpretative Building houses display areas, a 125-seat auditorium, a 1,000 volume natural history reference library, administrative offices, restrooms facilities and a nature shop. The top floor contains a glass-enclosed Tree Top Vista room for watching and listening to birds as they feed. An elevator makes all floors easily accessable.

The restored 1804 Iddings Log House is the oldest structure on its original site in Miami Couny and on the National Registry of Historical Places.

The 165 acres of rolling hills are traversed by over six miles of hiking trails, wandering through pine forest, deciduous woods, thicket, praire and wetland, past ponds, streams and along the Scenic Stillwater River.
