Geocache Description:

U.S. Route 66 is affectionately called the "Mother Road." It went from Chicago to Los Angeles. It was the subject of a TV show and a popular song, "Get Your Kicks On Route 66." The U.S. Route 66 has been decommissioned and replaced by Interstates. Between OKC and the northeast corner of Oklahoma, it is now called State Highway 66. In some places you can even still see the original road bed. Let's go see it!!

For more information on Route 66, please go to Route 66 | Enjoy the Ride!

This was originally Mother Road #26 but it was lost due to construction. I want to thank Cowboy Singer for placing the original cache and letting me adopt 2 of his “Mother Road” caches.

The cache container is a custom made micro container. It is about 1 ½ inches in circumference and about 2 inches long. It is camouflaged to fit its environment. It is a log only cache so bring your own pen or pencil. Most of the way to the cache is a paved sidewalk, the last 30-40 feet is grass and dirt. This is a free area of Lake Arcadia. It’s near the lake overlook so take your binoculars with you and enjoy the view. The hours are from 8 AM until 9 PM.

Watch out for Muggles they can see from many directions!!!

Congratulations to Bluespruce on FTF!!!

Terrain level has been bumped up to a 2 due to popular demand. I guess I am part Mountain Goat…
