This cache is hidden on the Slough of Despond Side Trail. The whole trail is 8.7 km long, but the cache is hidden at the end of the legal right of way, making this cache family oriented. Even though this is a legal right of way PLEASE park on the main road (concession road 24) and hike to the to the cache. It can be muddy at times. Along the way you will overlook the start of the Slough of Despond and also see Esther’s Bluff. Please stay on the legal right away all the way to the cache site. After finding the cache the more adventurous souls can continue onto the trail. The trail takes you over the stile, past a barn foundation where the silo still remains standing, and alongside some apple trees. It skirts the edge of the field and enters the bush over a stile. An information sign describing the geology of the Slough of Despond and its surrounding area is found here. Along this section, there are excellent views of the Slough of Despond.
*Please Note*
This cache container is a custom large wooden container. It is very well camouflaged but placed right in plain sight. Please be careful when looking for and handling the container and leave it hidden as well as you can. Due to the nature of this container please leave trade items in the zip loc bags. I really enjoyed making this one.
