10,000 years ago glaciers covered this land. As the ice shifted and moved bedrock was ground and pulverized leaving behind quarries of sand and gravel, the gouged valleys that became the lakes we all love and the occasional large boulder simply deposited on the ground.
The lake you see here is said to resemble an elephant from high in the air and this cache would be situated above said elephant's back.
There is a place to park but don't block the driveway. Enjoy the breathtaking view from here for as long as you like. You are pretty close now. You are looking for a red and black plastic coffee container. Remember to keep your heads up as you are next to the 9th hole of what used to be Cedar Meadow Golf Course. Fore-warned is fore-armed.
