'Solstice' seasons and 'Kismet' aptly describes the location of this traditional cache. The cache location will invite a visit to the small park close by. Glamor Lake, with its Trent Canal System dam, connects to Little Glamor Lake. The waterway is monitored twice daily. The traditional cache is easily located and is a food safe type container. It contains the Welcome Letter and Disclaimer. Also, log book with pencil and sharpener, usual trinkets and trade items. There are no travel bugs or geocoins in this cache. Perhaps the cache visitor will linger at the park, taking in Highlands East, Haliburton County's awesome scenery, shoreline or a walkabout in the surrounding woods. There is no camping allowed in this small municipal park; however, during daily park use there are washrooms and a parking area. There is a boat launch to both Glamor Lake and Little Glamor Lake. This is a family and outdoor enthusiast location. A Loon Sanctuary is established on the small island in Little Glamor Lk. and posted are rules, do's and dont's for visitors to adhere to. Swimming (a small sandy beach), canoeing, kayaking and fishing offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy and discover mother nature's treasurers - bring your camera and binoculars! There are many cache locations in the Highlands East, and you are invited to visit www.geocachingcapitalofcanada.com for locations in Wilberforce and Greater Surroundings, including the south end of Algonquin Park - "naturally beautiful, geocacher friendly and one third crown land!" Also, the Highlands East Arts&Crafts Tour Group (HEACTG) host local artists and artisans with an annual Tour event, Aug.12th&13th - to download brochure and map go to www.highlandseastartour.com Perhaps cache visitors will want to return to the Highlands East and explore more caches, to take in this tour and to revisit 'Solstice-Kismet'. Be sure to bring your cross country skis, snowshoes and camera when planning a visit to this cache site during winter solstice - the winterwhite landscape is breathtaking! As a footnote: regarding the water levels please keep in mind that levels for all waterways drop early September and return to normal levels mid-April.
