Geocache Description:

What better way to pass a pleasant time in the park than by doing some arithmetic while you stroll? All the intermediate waypoints and the final cache are inside the park. The main coordinates listed at the top of the page are not part of the puzzle, so you can ignore them.

At Point A count the windows you can see. Be careful not to step into the street while you count. Call that A.

At Point B count the windows you can see. Count them again. Count them a third time. Be careful not to step into the street while you count. Call that B.

At Point C count the number of bricks in one horizontal row. Round up to the nearest whole brick, and call that C.

At Point D count the number of rungs you'd have to climb to change a light bulb. Call that D.

At Point E there is a five-digit number. Call that E. Count the number of times the number appears, and call it H.

At Point F there is a big block of cement, engraved with a number of lines of text. Call that number F.

At Point G count the number of green metal cages, and call that G.

Multiply E by H and add F. Divide the result by a thousand, and add half of C. The result is the complete minutes part of the North coordinate of the final cache.

Multiply A by D. Add B and G. Subtract the latter from the former. The result is the fractional part of the minutes part of the West coordinate of the final cache. The non-fractional part is the same as it is for all the intermediate waypoints.

If you like geeky math formulae, here they are:

N 33°yy.yyy W 117°49.xxx

where yy.yyy = (((ExH)+F) / 1000) + (C/2)

and xxx = (AxD) - (B+G)

The cache is a round Citrus Sours Altoids container. It has a log and some tiny items. I checked the cache recently, with an eye to replacing the container, but I found it not to be too rusty. SillyCutie showed me the place on the lid where you can press with your thumb to make the container open easily. I had not noticed it before.

Thanks to YourBuddyBill for beta-testing this my first puzzle cache.
