Located just off the former Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific's line from New Lisbon to Star Lake, WI. Parking is located at N45 31.348, W089 42.859
We spend alot of time up here due to my folks living in the area. We named it our get away cache because the wife and I were able to "Get Away" from the kids in order to go place it. This cache is located just off the former Milwaukee Road right-of-way. This line ran from New Lisbon to Star Lake in Northern Wisconsin at one time. The Milwaukee tore up the line back to Minocqua and continued to operate to there until the late 70's/early 80's. The tracks now end in Tomahawk and is owned by the Canadian National now. The once famous "Fish Special" passenger train once ran over this line. The depot in Minocqua was recently razed and replaced by a newer building. It had been serving as the City Police department headquarters.
