Geocache Description:

A high moorland walk to a little piece of history.

Located high on Robinson’s Moss, this secluded spot was the main source of water for the village of Tintwistle prior to the development of the springs at Arnfield. Water from the spring still feeds the header pond that is now a magnet for wildlife. You can follow the line of stakes westward through the heather to the small compensation reservoir on Tintwistle Low Moor. Along the way you will have the occasional glimpse of the four generations of pipelines that carried fresh water down to the village.
