Turn right on Burnt Valley from Highway 395, Turn east on United Copper Mine road
Chewelah began as one of the mining boom towns of the late 1800's. This mine is located on the west slope of Eagle Mountain. It produced ore from 1906 - 1931 and 1955 - 1957. The geology is fractured argillite of the Wallace Formation near a fault contact with the Edna Dolomite.
Original items include a TB, flag pin, pin, Baseball cards, key chain, log book,and pencil.
