Geocache Description:

This cache will bring you to a tract of state gamelands near Pittsfield. The road into the parking spot is not well marked, but it intersects with State Route 27 at these coordinates N 41* 49.492 and W 079* 24.322. The road is about a mile long into the parking spot and is a little rough for the first hundred yards or so, but then gets better. It has a good base, but is a little rocky, so low clearance vehicles are not recommended. Use good judgement during snowy and icy weather. The parking spot is nice and ample room to turn your vehicle around, so if you can navigate the first hundred yards ok, you should be in good shape. Wear Blaze orange during hunting season. Enjoy the walk and be sure to rehide the cache as good or better than you find it to keep it from being found accidentally.

The suggested parking spot for this cache is at N 41*50.252 and W 079* 25.000. This will bring you to a locked gate with a nice gentle climb up the rest of the way to the top of the ridge to find the cache. The cache gets its name from the fact that we saw a turkey scratching nearby while we placed the cache. Don't forget to do the Oak Forest Cache while you are here also.
