2nd City Circle Caching Conjuncture Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Partic: Thanks once again to all who attended in July! Great to have set the Australian Geocaching Event Record on the day, but I look forward to seeing it shattered later in the year.

Looking forward to what someone comes up with next time for the "Winter Event". Feel free to contact me for any tips.

GPS Distance Estimation
BackPAQer just 4cm out with 30.8m - the measured distance was 30.76m.

Coffee Guesstimation
dcr with 1310 beans - 7 short of the 1317 (Coffee Clan's cache finds to date)

Lolly Guesstimation
FullOnPhil with 220 - 6 short of the 226 in there.

For those who were curious, the sculpture I picked was the one opposite the NAB building in front of the new Victoria Harbour building... basically a tripod with a nautlius shell on top. A few people, including both winners, snapped a shot of it.

Gallery
I've set up an event gallery at Geocaching Australia for you to all post photos to: http://gallery.geocaching.com.au/album72

For those who are interested, the questions and answers are available in PDF via these links.

I had a great time organising it, and look forward to seeing you all at the next event!

Most of the initial details match last year's event, but there will be some twists closer to the event, so watch the forum topic on GCA for more information.

9:30am on Sunday July 9th 2005 marks the start of this great occasion. Join the tourists in our magnificent city, riding the FREE City Circle tram.

The START and FINISH has been upgraded since last year, and in addition to excellent and clean facilities including, FREE BBQ’s, Toilets, Water on tap and seating for a small number of people (hence try to bring a chair), it also now has the groovy Blowhole Sculpture and some play equipment.

There is FREE PARKING nearby in Nth Wharf Rd. (S37o 49.327 E144o 56.758) but it’s limited by 2 hrs. The Tram stop is nearby and you should be fine to make it back in time to move your car once during the 3hr event, or you can pay $7 for all day parking. Alternatively, keep with the Public Transport theme and get there using a Sunday Super Saver Met ticket for $2.50.

The Event will be about 3hrs long, not including the lunch and get together of all participants after the tram ride. This event will be suitable for cachers big and small from 1 to 100!
