This cache has been hidden for the GAG8 event and should not be sought until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28th.
This cache is for those of you who are tired of walking through the woods only to find a micro cache, especially with kids. Also good for trading your oversized objects – in fact that’s the theme! There’s very little you could bring to this cache that wouldn’t fit.
While scouting a location for this cache we came across this guardian in the woods. Don’t know who put him there or how he got there. Any ideas? Please write. We’re curious.
The guardian seemed like a good reason to make this cache our first multi-cache (and only our second cache). Note: there's no need to closely approach the guardian and caution is appropriate if you do -- objects are not fixed.
A simple redirect – look for the copper tag on a tree near the guardian. Bearing only though. This cache is so big that you should trip over it! If you hit the road you’ve gone too far.
Initially stocked with ‘jumbo’ things, log book and pencil. Please be sure to leave the pencil – anything else is up for trade.
For all those doing GAG8 through the night, there’s a jumbo flashlight for the FTF (2M candle power – fully charged, includes wall & car adapter).
Please don’t post pictures of the actual cache, or it’ll be too easy.
BTW, if you need parking coordinates use the first waypoint of Happy Cat, Smelly Cat II (GCV64D).
Was talking with some cachers at the CCC Summer Kick Off who made a recent attempt (June 2006). They tried a few short cuts and encountered barbed wire and poison ivy. Best off starting from the parking recommendation and sticking to the trails.
UPDATE 2011: the guardian is long gone and not rebuildable. Tag is still in place.
