Geocache Description:

Lovely walk around a very pretty village.

This multi stage cache is set in a small but developed village of Plymtree in Devon. The reason for the location is that I used to spend my summer holidays in this village with my grandparents. In those days there was little in the way of modern houses that can be seen when driving through the village. The trail will start by the small church that is actually in Norman’s green.. If you are feeling really energetic you could walk the whole thing from here as there is room for cars to park up here but I must add it would be a good 5-mile round trip.

First go to this point N50°49.433 W003°20.520 and get the number from the telephone pole by the gate, this will give you ABCDE.

Diagonally opposite the phone pole is a SV post what is the top number this gives you F.

So now you can walk or drive to the next part, this will take you to the main part of the village, You should see a church, Post office and the Blacksmith Arms. Park up at N50°49.045 W003°20.837.

Next co-ords are for the church that is behind you at N50°49.060 W003°20.837. As you enter the church there is a plaque on the large wooden gate in memory of Edward Martin the date gives you MNOP.

Now you will need to do a walk around the church until you come back to the gate that you entered. When you get here N50°49.083 W003°20.846 you will see a row of headstone you need to get the year that William Hole died this will give you QRST

Right you now have all the clues done so you need to solve the equation below to solve the location of the cache. If the Blacksmith Arms is open this is a good spot to do it.

N50° PR.(Mx3)D(A+B) W003° (A/2)(A-B)N(N-S)S
.

You can E-Mail us the co-ords to see if you a right if you wish but it is a good walk so if the GPS spits out a longish distance then it is right this isn't one of these 500 feet jobbies. When you do the cache the footpath to it starts here at N50°49.038 W003°20.849. When you get to the farm trust your gps and look for the Footpath signs. If the Farmer is about he will show you the way. You will know what I mean when you get there better still look on a OS map and you can see the path on it. If you take dogs please obey the signs as the path goes through open farmland with livestock in it. Also please re-hide the cache well.

THIS WILL MAKE SENSE WHEN YOU GET THERE AND IF YOU HAVE DONE THE MATH RIGHT..
IF THE GATE IS CLOSED IT IS QUITE FINE TO GO THROUGH YOU MAY GET THE FARMERS DOG HAVE A HISSY FIT AT YOU BUT THATS OK HE IS HARMLESS JUST CLOSE IT IF IT WAS CLOSED.
