Geocache Description:

TG Rock

About this place:
Some 220 000 years ago a blazing stony meteorite the size of half a football field slammed into the earth’s crust. The impact formed a huge crater, 1,4 km in diameter and 200 m deep. This crater, known as the Pretoria Saltpan (or Zoutpan), is situated 40 km north to the northwest of Pretoria. It is one of the best-preserved meteorite impact craters anywhere in the world.

About the cache:
The cache is located on the northern rim of the Tswaing Meteorite Crater. The cache is the starting point of a TB with the same name as the cache; TG Rock (TBKP4H).

The theme of the cache is rocks; more specifically rocks from the visiting geocachers. If you are planning to visit this cache please bring alone a small rock from your area. If possible tagged or placed in a ziplock bag with information about the rock. Please approach the cache from the path passing below the cache.

Bring a pen/pencil as it seems it went missing...
