Sri Lanka's third cache and the first and only traditional one as far as we know! This cache is hidden in an oasis, set back from the busy Colombo to Galle road, close to the tourist resort of Hikkaduwa on the south west coast. If you survive the crazy Sri Lanka roads, it is an easy find!
"Sukhawathi" means "pure land" in Sinhalese. Our friend Kasanjith, on whose land the cache is hidden, truly believes in the pure ethics of Buddhist beliefs and tries to maintain this amongst a culture with an increasing disregard for the wisdom of its ancient teachings. One part of this wisdom is Ayurveda - an ancient but still very effective form of medical treatment. The cache is surrounded by lush tropical plants, many of which have Ayurvedic properties.
The cache contains an assortment of mostly Sri Lankan sourced items which we hope you will find useful.
The gates to the cache area are generally open by 7am and not closed until about 10pm - don't be shy, they will be pleased to see you!
