Geocache Description:

Historic old Log Cabin

Back in the days when wagons and horses were the best way to get around, hardy families of pioneers settled on the outskirts of the San Rafael Swell and tried to eke out a living out of the desert. The Swaseys were one of those families. The Swaseys grazed livestock and wrangled wild horses in the Head of Sinbad area beginning in the late 1800’s. Swasey’s cabin was built in 1921 by Joseph Swasey. The cabin was used as a shelter by members of the Swasey family as well as other cowboys. Early accounts state the cabin was furnished with a wood stove, chairs, a table and two bunks. The cabin was built wit Douglas fir logs harvested in Eagle Canyon

This is a Log only cache. Trades not recomended.
