Frodo_Underhill: Looks like this construction project will go on for some time to come. They are staging materials and debris in the general area of the cache. Reluctantly I am archiving the cache. If the construction ever gets completed, the cache may rise again in another form. Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a located in Pole Hill Park in Gibbsboro, NJ. Its a large camouflaged pill bottle, hidden in the usual fashion. The bottle is big enough for coins, tokens and small trade goods. Bring your own pen / pencil.

Pole Hill Park is a former USAF radar installation dating back to the Nike missile era that was deeded to Gibbsboro, NJ in 1999 as Green Acres park land. Pole Hill is an area highpoint at roughly 200 ft above sea level - perfect for a radar installation. At one time the view must have been commanding - now to the south and west there is a large sand and gravel operation. However the military planted quite a few pines which are now grown which makes this not often visited park a bit serene.

The former recreation center for the military base is now a seniors center with a two lane bowling alley and there is a baseball field and lawns. There is also a building set aside for the local Boy Scout troop. Finally on the north end of the site is an FAA radar installation. It is well marked and fenced off and the cache is not there - so don't go there. Think of it as a "Happy Fun Ball" that you dare not play with. However stealthy caching in the area is still recommended.
