This multistage cache will lead you on a pleasant woods walk of about 2 miles on a scenic and diverse system of marked trails.
This cache is located in the Wiessner Woods, a 104-acre property off of Edson Hill Road in Stowe, maintained by the Stowe Land Trust . The land, formerly owned by long-time Stowe residents Fritz and Muriel Wiessner, was conserved in 1992, after Fritz died in 1988. The property has a well-maintained network of trails marked with Stowe Land Trust signs, which are popular both in summer with walkers, and also in winter with snowshoers and XC skiers. The Catamount XC ski trail also crosses the property on its journey from southern Vermont to Canada. Trail maps can be downloaded from the Stowe Land Trust website (see link above).
The posted coordinates will take you to stage 1 of the cache. Park at N 44° 29.813 W 072° 43.625 at a turnout to the left of a long driveway.
The final cache container is a 3-qt Rubbermaid container with a red cover.
