Geocache Description:

A multi-cache South of Argonia, KS at the K.L.O.U.D.Busters Rocketry Club launch site.

I first visited the tree at the above coordinates when I certified Level One with the K.L.O.U.D.Busters Rocketry club. My rocket flew fine, but with a slightly larger parachute than needed and with a slight Kansas wind , it drifted a ways. After spotting where it landed, I did what so many other rocketeers do, I walked. I ended up walking just over a mile North and about a half mile to the East, to within a hundred feet of “The Tree”.

Now a few notes about the area where the redirects and cache are hidden.

1: Unless you are there on a day when the Kloudbusters are flying, I strongly advise you to bring a friend along. Getting hurt here would be bad. This is an isolated area that may not be visited by humans for weeks. Depending on the provider, it has limited cell phone service. Having a friend along means someone could go for help. Tell someone where you are going and when to expect you back.

On the days when there is a Kloudbusters’ launch, safety rules are in effect. You are welcome to geocache during a launch and then stay and watch the flights. The Kloudbusters Board of Directors are aware that there are geocaches onsite. Depending on the range setup, you may need to contact the Prefect, (who is a geocacher), the Launch Control Officer, the Range Safety Officer or an onsite vendor (rocket not food) to inquire when it is safe to proceed beyond the spectator areas. The Kloudbusters launch schedule is at (visit link)

2: Please do not walk in the fields. There is no need to walk in planted or plowed ground. There are two pastures where you will be able to walk in. Both pastures have deep gullies that run though parts of them. Please be careful.

One of the pastures has an eighteen wheel trailer in it. You may park your car in this pasture. Please do not block the gravel drive. This pasture is the K.L.O.U.D.Busters launch site.

3: Watch out for animal holes in the tall grass.

4: Do not drive on muddy roads.

Stage One: Visit the tree at the above coordinates. There you will find a stainless steel tag. It will redirect you to stage two.

Stage Two: This stage is a short walk from the road and is in a pasture. South of this pasture is the second pasture with the eighteen wheel trailer in it. At this location you will find another stainless steel tag. It will redirect you to stage three.

Stage Three: At this location, project 250 feet at a bearing of 146º true.

Stage Four: The final is a 50 Cal. Ammo Box. 12” long by 6” wide by 7” deep. From this spot you cannot be seen from any road. I hope you brought a friend along.
