Just off the edge of the road a little cache is waiting peacefully for you to visit.
It is peaceful around here most of the time. Wheat fields and wide open spaces for nearly as far as the eye can see. During the summer gliders soar silently across the plains, taking advantage of the favorable air currents. Very peaceful. In fact just looking around you might not guess the excitement that is about to take place right here. Every Memorial Day Weekend until 2020 the rocketry enthusiasts from across the Northwest get together just across the road for four days of 'Fire in the Sky'. Rockets of all shapes and sizes leap into the sky on plumes of fire and smoke from early morning to late in the evening. Many go miles high and fly faster than the speed of sound. The launch has been moved to others locations but the cache remains. Peaceful? Not for a few days. Then things quiet down again when everyone heads home. At least until the snowmobile races begin.
