How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Located near the top of a small, rocky hill, you can access this site on the south side of the Las Vegas Wash, then hike across a bridge located 1/4 mile west of the fire station at Lake Las Vegas and take a short 0.25 mile hike to the cache. You can also bike Clark County's bike trails to the site.

As early as 4000 years ago, hiking trails passing by this site brought early man into the Las Vegas Valley from the Colorado River Basin. No doubt these early travelers paused at this location to gain their first glimpse of the Las Vegas Valley and its lush meadows waiting in the distance. You can only imagine the thoughts and excitement they felt about the potential prosperity that lay just a few miles ahead.

Please stay on existing roads and trails as the surrounding areas are very fragile.
