World's Largest Swimming Pool Mystery Cache
The Amigos: Apparently, this has all become private property. I sure HATE archiving this one. It has been so much fun to take friends out to. Sorry, folks. :(

LARGEST CONCRETE SWIMMING POOL IN THE WORLD
Cisco in its early days was plagued with inadequate water supply. In the 1920s the Williamson Dam was built north of town, resulting in the formation of Lake Cisco. It was named after James Milton Williamson, long time mayor and survivor of the 1893 Tornado. At its base was built what was billed as the largest concrete swimming pool in the world. The complex boasted a two story building with a skating rink upstairs, a zoo, an amusement park with rides, and a park. Bob Wills was only one of the celebrities to entertain there. For decades it was a major attraction for folks from miles around. The hollow dam was open to the public but this is no longer the case. Going into the blackness of its inner chamber was spookier than any horror movie. During the 1920s the high school football team, the Loboes, were called the Big Dam Loboes. I would think that some were probably scandalized by this nickname!
The pool closed in the 1970s and the vacant skating rink burned a few years later. The property is now in a state of disrepair, but one is still captivated by the size of the swimming pool. It is so darn big!
The cache is not at the coordinates listed above. To find the cache, you must trek inside the Lake Cisco Dam. Enter on the south end of the dam. Do not go up the stairs (yet). The coordinates for the entry point are N 32 26.288 W 098 59.108 (These may be off slightly due to the proximity to the dam. You should be at the bottom of a stairway).
Once inside the dam, there are 18 doors that you can go through. Above these doors are written interesting facts about Cisco and the building of the dam. Most of the walk through is easy, but there is one door the you will have to step over a partial wall to continue. From these writings, you will get your coordinates to a nearby hidden cache. The part of the dam that you cannot enter has metal doors. This is the inner chamber of the spillway of the dam, talked about in the story above.
A=1 B=2 C=3 D=4 E=5 F=6 G=7 H=8 I=9
If you find a letter in the listed position, convert it to a number using the above graph.
Now, on to finding the coordinates for the hidden cache.
N - 14th door - First letter of first word of first line.
8th door - First number on last line.
15th door - First letter of first word on second line.
9th door - Number that appears before the 0's.
16th door - Cisco's average annual rainfall, divided by nine.
6th door - First letter of the name of the nearby town.
17th door - Throw out the first and last numbers, and you still have how many feet to stand on?
W - 11th door - What number appears most often?
5th door - First line. If you take away the three before me, and the three after me, I stand alone.
4th door - How long is the lake?
10th door - What vowel appears most often?
13th door - Second letter of second word.
2nd door - What month was construction started?
7th door - If you added one more zero, how many zeroes would you have?
3rd door- This number appears twice, but not in a fraction.
Now that you have your coordinates, the fun begins! The actual cache is not exactly easy to get to. I would not recommend small children or the faint of heart try it! If you bring your family, and not everyone wants to try to find the cache, there is a nearby, rarely used park where they can have a picnic, or they can explore the nearby abandoned zoo (where there is another hidden cache). I do recommend wearing jeans and good shoes. The difficulty varies on this quest from a 2 to a 4. You will see why!
***For an added bonus, and an extra smiley face, before you leave the dam to find the cache, go UP to N 32 26.347 W 098 59.076, and look down into the pool. Send an email telling us what one plaything still stands in the pool below. Doesn't this view make you feel like you are on top of the world!!? Awesome!
There are several nearby caches:
1. Whose Zoo? N 32 23.496 W 098 58.871
2. Dance the Night Away. N 32 26.273 W 098 58.900
3. Lost HWY 283? N 32 26.210 W 098 59.135
(O.K., to make this cache even more tempting, we have gone back and put a BRAND NEW, NEVER ACTIVATED Texas Spinning coin in for the first to find!! But we also discovered that our coordinates are off about 20ft or so, but that's half the fun of caching!! You can keep the coin and add it to your collection, or you can activate it and set it free!)
