This is the MOTHERLOAD of all caches. Filled to the gills with goodies for kids. Remember to trade for equal value.
This is a BIG cache. It is designed to provide an adventure for those young and young at heart. It is located in the Sparta Glen Park.
While filled with kid goodies, an adult should accompany the search team and should be the one who retrieves the cache due to its size and weight. A direct approach is not advised as it leads up some trecherous terrain. Follow the road all the way to the river and look to your left, you will see a small trail up the hill. Follow this up to the top of the ridge and make your way from there to the cache site. Overall, this is not a particularly difficult hike, but watch for branches from the downed trees and sticker bushes as they can leave you with a few scratches. Taking your time, you can navigate around them without contact.
While you will end up only a few hundred feet from the main road, remember that this is a wild area. Wear long pants and bug spray to prevent tick bites. Watch for bears and snakes as they are in the area. Know what to do if you have an encounter and it is a rare treat.
