How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

The Nuwekloof Pass is between Tulbagh and Gouda. An old tarred road below the railway line gives access to the kloof and is great for an easy sunday walk or quick cycle while the rest of the world wizzes past on the new road on the opposit side of the valley.

Park at S33 18.738/E19 04.404 at the entrance to the old road, Gouda side of the bridge spanning the Klein Berg River,cross the busy road and walk 700m or drive along the tarred road and you will find the cache in the cave above the railway line.
After finding the cache chill in the cave, swim in the river or continue your walk through the kloof. This will have to be a return trip as access to Tulbagh station on the other end of the kloof has been blocked.
Vehicles on the access road sometimes attract the attention of Spoornet and will be chased out of the kloof.
