Geocache Description:

The first park in Kansas is also located in the first city in Kansas.

This first city is also home to the first (active) army base west of the Mississippi.

It is also the location of the oldest (active) US penitentiary.

As you stroll the Esplanade, you'll discover some of the Kansas history needed to retrieve this cache. On one side of the Esplanade is the home of Susan B. Anthony, on the other, a birds' eye view of the route traveled by Lewis and Clark.
